Education stakeholders in Mpigi District gathered this week for a farewell function honoring the outgoing District Education Officer, Mr. Deogratius Ssekyole, who has officially retired after years of service to the education sector.
Presiding over the event, Fr. Kiibi Kateregga hailed Mr. Ssekyole for his dedication, discipline, and commitment to improving schools in Mpigi.
“Mr. Ssekyole has served this district with integrity. He walked the schools, followed up on teachers, and ensured that our children got quality education. Mpigi is better because of his work,” Fr. Kiibi said.
The farewell was attended by *District Chairman Counsel Simon Peter Kawuki*, education officials, headteachers, and other well-wishers who praised Mr. Ssekyole for his mentorship and teamwork during his tenure.
Chairman Kawuki thanked the retired DEO for his service and pledged that the district will continue to prioritize education and support to schools.
Mr. Ssekyole thanked the district leadership, teachers, and parents for the cooperation accorded to him over the years and urged the incoming team to keep the momentum of improving standards in both government and private schools.
The function ended with prayers, testimonies, and gifts in appreciation of Mr. Ssekyole’s contribution to Mpigi’s education sector.
